Thru the years, our church has went thru many changes as Bro. Cutrer prayed that God would send the people to S.H. that God wanted to be here. Most of the original founding saints have felt drawn elsewhere. It was sad to see friends go, but thru it all, God was shaking each of us into place, so our roots would take hold. We learned that if you place your roots deep enough you can stand during the worst storm. The Cutrers have been thru many things to get our church to where it is today. For all these years, they have laughed, cried, rejoiced, & loved us. But most of all, they have been here, by our side, thru it all.
In the year 2000, we again felt the need to build. Our church members were having to sit in folding chairs because we needed sitting room. We raised money to pay off over $30,000 that was owed on our old building. God greatly blessed us allowing us to pay it off in just a few months. We then started building up funds for our new building. In January of 2001 we poured the foundation for our new church. Eight months later, our church is was completed. Our first service in our new sanctuary was Sept. 2nd, 2001.
As if God was putting his seal of approval upon our new building, two people received the Holy Ghost on that Sunday night. We look forward to many years in our new building and ask that you rejoice with the Cutrers and our church family as we thank God for his blessings to us.
We have done several other things to the church in the last year few years. We have added a covered drive thru area at the side of the church, remodeled the kitchen and fellowship area in the other building. Created two new sunday school class rooms.
In 2004 we joined the two buildings together with 2 new prayer rooms. At the beginning of 2007 we added a new steeple on the front of the church. It looks great! Who knows what God has in store for our church in the coming years! We invite you to take a look at our website and see how God is using our Pastor and his family to make a wonderful church! We also invite you to come and be with us in person, we would love to see you at Souls' Harbor!
